Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon from mostly the Shotwell vineyard in the El Pomar district of Paso Robles (California), refreshed by the Templeton Gap, with contributions from the Beck vineyard (Creston, at 518 m) and from the Adelaida estates. Dry, gravelly and partly limestone soil. 91 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 4 % Petit Verdot, 3 % Malbec and 2 % Cabernet Franc. Aged for 18 months in very fine French oak barrels, 58 % new. Nose of blackberry, black currant and toasted hay; dense and smooth palate, with a lively and spicy finish.
