Appellation of Origin: Maipo Alto, Maipo Valley. High altitude vineyards planted on the piedmont of the Andes Mountains at 820 metres above sea level. A very prestigious and emblematic area for red varieties. Characterised by colluvial soils, mountain breezes and great thermal oscillation, together with very high luminosity.

HARVEST: The 2018 harvest started a little later than normal, given a rainy and cooler winter and spring, followed by a milder summer, then with the heat of March and April the fruit finished ripening and compensated for this slower start to the harvest, finally finishing in early May. The quality of the fruit received was healthy, there was no rain during the harvest and the ripeness was adequate. The wines have aromatic intensity and acidity together with appropriate volume and roundness.

VINIFICATION: The grapes were fermented in stainless steel vats for 7 days at a temperature of 26-28°C, with a post-fermentation maceration of 5 days. After malolactic fermentation, part of the wine evolved for 15 months in Austrian oak vats. This evolution gave the wine a unique complexity and structure.

AGING: 15 months in Austrian oak foudres.
