Petite Sirah (Durif) de Flaherty Wines, viñedo Tequel, a unos 15 km al sur de Cauquenes (Valle del Maule) y a 42 km del océano Pacífico. Viñas plantadas entre 2010 y 2011, conducidas en vaso y en secano, sobre suelos profundos de arcilla roja de origen granítico, con rendimientos de 1,5 kg por planta. Crianza en barricas usadas de roble americano de 225 litros. Mora silvestre, cereza y arándano, con ciruela, especias dulces y un fondo de grafito; boca amplia, de taninos jugosos y rústicos. Añada 2018. 15,8 % vol.

We acquired the 14 hectare Tequel Vineyard property in 2008 and planted the vines between 2010 and 2011, using traditional growing techniques still common in the region, in particular dry farming and head training. The vineyard is located approximately 15 kilometres south of Cauquenes in the Maule Region of Chile and 42 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean, which provides a cooling influence in the evenings. The gently rolling hills of the area have deep red clay soils of granitic origin. Petite Sirah (Durif) vines are hardy and can survive and produce modestly in dry farming. We aged the wine for 19 months in used 225-litre American oak barrels.
