The fruit was sourced from premium vineyards throughout the Columbia Valley, including Horse Heaven Hills and Wahluke Slope.
The vines are planted on south-facing slopes, which provides excellent sun exposure for ripening the grapes and protection from cold draughts during the winter. The vineyards are 100% drip irrigated. This, combined with the low water retention capacity of the soil, allows precise control of the vines. The grapes were crushed and then fermented with skins for 6 to 10 days.
Malolactic fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. Blending took place immediately after fermentation.
The wine was aged predominantly in oak barrels, both new and old French and American, for approximately 17 months.
