HARVEST NOTES
The 2020 growing season was mostly excellent in terms of weather. After a relatively dry winter, bud break began early, and spring and summer temperatures were mild and temperate. This allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, developing pure, vibrant flavours with soft, fleshy textures. In late September, the harvest was affected by forest fires and rising temperatures. These extreme conditions drove the final ripeness of the grapes, and we conducted extensive testing to ensure quality, excluding any fruit that did not meet our standards. Although our meticulous selection process resulted in a smaller crop in 2020, the wines we produced live up to Duckhorn's reputation, exhibiting beautiful aromas, elegant textures, vibrant complexity and lush flavours.
