GROWING SEASON
After a long growing season characterised by cooler than normal temperatures during the spring and summer, the 2018 harvest started 5-8 days later than in recent years. The milder temperatures allowed a longer ripening time for the grapes, allowing them to fully ripen and retain a high level of acidity. Overall, the harvest was abundant, with some vineyards producing above average quantities. The season ended with the ideal combination of warm days and cool nights, allowing the high quality grapes to thrive while developing complexity and nuance.
