Mullineux Kloof Street Old Vine Chenin Blanc

The grapes for this Chenin Blanc 2022 come from three parcels of sustainably farmed vineyards in different parts of Swartland: A 40-year-old Chenin parcel planted on the stony shale and slate soils of the Kasteelberg, and two dry-farmed parcels over 40 years old, on the decomposed granite soils of the Paardeberg. The grapes were harvested between 8 and 17 February 2020.
The grapes are cooled in our cold store, whole bunches are pressed and the juice is left to settle overnight. The juice is transferred to tanks and old French oak barrels for fermentation, which is carried out with indigenous yeasts and lasts approximately 6 weeks. The barrels are then racked and blended with the fermented part in the tank and bottled.
