GROWING SEASON
Growth during the 2020 growing season was excellent overall. After a relatively dry winter, bud break began early, and temperatures during the spring and summer were mild and temperate. This allowed the grapes to ripen slowly, developing pure, vibrant flavours and soft, fleshy textures. In late September, the harvest was affected by the outbreak of wildfires and the arrival of warm weather. The warm temperatures gave many vineyards the final push towards maturity as we worked to harvest the grapes. During this period, we conducted extensive testing to ensure quality, excluding any fruit that did not meet our standards. Although our meticulous selection process resulted in a smaller vintage in 2020, the wines we produced live up to the Duckhorn name, displaying beautiful aromas, soft, elegant textures, lively complexity and lush flavours.
