Appellation of Origin: Maipo Alto, Maipo Valley. Grapes from mountain vineyards with vines planted on slopes between 700 and 1,000 metres above sea level in the heart of the Andes Mountains.
HARVEST: The 2017 vintage was one of the earliest of the last decade, with
at least three weeks early due to a dry spring and a summer with very warm temperatures. Yields were lower than expected but of excellent quality, with very full, aromatic and highly concentrated grapes. The wines from this vintage will be remembered for their great complexity, roundness, volume and texture.
VINIFICATION: The grapes were fermented with selected yeasts for 6 days at temperatures
between 26o and 29o C, in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the
post-fermentation maceration for two weeks. After malolactic fermentation, each component of the blend was aged separately,
in first use French oak barrels for 15 months. The wine was constantly monitored and tasted during its evolution in barrel and only the best were selected to determine the final blend *Limited Production*. This final blend was again transferred to barrel for a period of 5 months in order to achieve total harmony during its ageing. The wine is then fined and gently bottled.
AGING: Evolution of 20 months in French oak barrels of first use, with a first period of 15 months for each of the varieties separately and then 5 more months for the final blend. Aging in bottle for at least 1 year before release.
