TERROIR
Soil of alluvial origin with an upper layer of clayey loam composition. The profile is dominated by conglomerate with abundant presence of pebbles.
Irrigation: Surface, conducted in the row by furrow.
Altitude: 995 masl
Type of management: Medium to low density canopy, seeking to illuminate the bunches with indirect light and protect the fruit from direct sunlight, soils with traditional tillage allowing the coexistence of rye row by row. Sustainable management avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides. Both varieties are double Guyot pruned.
- WINEMAKING -
Harvest date: Malbec early March and late March, Cabernet Sauvignon first week of April.
Harvested by hand in boxes of 20 kilos.
Winemaking: Traditional, with pre-fermentative cold maceration for 3 days and 10% of whole cluster in the case of Malbec. Work on the cap is carried out by pumping over and stomping. Fermentation temperature 25° C.
The 20 % of the blend is aged in oak barrels for 8 months.

Bodega Vistalba was founded in Mendoza in 2003. It was built on one of the family estates and its name is a tribute to the land that gives it a home: the terroir of Vistalba.
