Appellation of Origin: Maipo Andes
Winemaker: Alvaro Espinoza
Soil: Volcanic, alluvial and colluvial, basaltic (Andesite), clay loam texture, high content of rocks and organic matter. 500 metres above sea level.
Vintage climate: Cold winter, low rainfall. Early budding and good conditions in spring. Harvest came early, about two weeks. Dry and healthy conditions for harvest. Great aromatic profile for most of the valley. Especially good for Syrah and Carmenere.
Age of Plants: 17 years old (100% grown on farm)
Yields (per hectare): 5 tonnes
Organic Farm Certifications: (Ecocert). Biodynamic (Demeter)
Winemaking: The grapes are harvested by hand during late March and April. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks (5000 litres) for 25 days at 24°C. No yeast was added.
Ageing: 12 months in French oak barrels; 30% new, 40% second use, 30% third use.
Alcohol: 14.5%
Residual Sugar: 2.2 g/l
pH: 3.53
Total Acidity: 5.45 g/l
