COASTAL RED 2017
The Syrah and Grenache comes from a new vineyard, planted in 2011 in the same valley of Lo Abarca. The vineyards are planted on a steep hillside facing north. This wine is the first vintage of Garnacha. The vineyards are in a maritime climate due to the proximity to the sea. In addition, they are planted on 100% calcareous soils with marine deposits.
VINIFICATION
Fruit selected on arrival at the winery, then destemmed and crushed. No maceration, then a spontaneous fermentation begins without the use of commercial yeasts. The Grenache and Syrah were co-fermented. Two pump-overs per day are carried out. Once the fermentation is finished, a maceration is carried out for one week. The wine was racked into used barrels where it remained for 18 months on its fine lees. The blend is composed of 72% Syrah and 28% Garnacha.
